在美国，感恩节(Thanksgiving Day)是一个很重要的节日，为每年11月第四个星期四，放假4天。

感恩节很重要，即使再忙，家里的每个人都得不远万里赶回家团圆，一起吃火鸡。的确是这样，感恩节那天，平日这座熙熙攘攘的新兴城市，突然变得像一座空城，路上不再堵车，超市不再排队……

美国的感恩节，最正统的说法是：1620年“五月花”上的102名清教徒逃难北美后，在1620年与1621年之交的冬天就因为饥寒交迫死去了50多人。当地印第安人可怜他们，教会他们种植与捕猎。第二年秋天，收获的季节，五月花的清教徒邀请帮助过他们的印第安人共同庆祝，感谢上天赐予他们好的收成。这是美国感恩节的来历，而后感恩节在许多国家中流传并盛行。

Thanksgiving，感恩，一个多么优美的动词，心怀幸福的代言。我们，应该始终拥有一颗感恩的心， 感恩上天赐予收获，保佑和平；更应该感恩我们的父母、老师、爱人及身边的每一位朋友。

Thanks for your help – Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving was first celebrated in 1621, when Plymouth governor William Bradford invited neighboring Native Americans to join the Pilgrims for a three－day festival in gratitude for the successful harvest that followed a hard winter．

In the United States, certain kinds of food are traditionally served at Thanksgiving meals. First and foremost, turkey is usually the featured item on any Thanksgiving feast table (so much so that Thanksgiving is sometimes referred to as “Turkey Day”). Many Americans consider this to be only an American holiday although it is also celebrated in Canada and harvest festivals are held throughout the world．
